MicroJournal ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal micro-journaling application. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

We do not collect any personal information. MicroJournal works entirely on your device. Specifically:

We do not require account creation or login
We do not collect your name, email, or any contact information
We do not access your contacts, files, or location
We do not read or transmit your journal entries
Your journal entries, photos, and mood data are stored ONLY on your device

Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores the following data locally on your device only:

Journal entries (text, mood, date)
Photos you attach to entries
App settings (theme, reminder, lock preferences)
Usage statistics (streaks, entry counts)

This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.

Third-Party Services

Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. This may include:

Device identifiers (advertising ID)
IP address
General location (country/region level)
App usage data related to ad interactions

Photos

When you attach a photo to a journal entry, the photo is stored locally on your device only. We do not upload, transmit, or access your photos in any way.

App Lock (PIN / Biometric)

If you enable app lock, your PIN is stored locally on your device. Biometric data (fingerprint) is handled entirely by your device's operating system — we never access or store biometric data.

Children's Privacy

MicroJournal is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Permissions

Internet: Required for displaying advertisements
Notifications: For daily writing reminders
Biometric: For optional app lock feature
Photo access: Only when you choose to attach a photo
